Sideboard

Maybeboard

Grixis deck I've been brewing for the past month. Even before BoTG came out, I fixed my mana curve/problems and it looks like I didn't need Temple of Malice as much as I thought (other than the obvious replacement of guildgates).

Turn's out, this deck is pretty strong... After a handful of FNMs, I was able to hover below top 8 but could place higher if I were a better player. Alot of surprised looks when I drop an Izzet Guildgate early game and they see a Watery Grave or Blood Crypt in play already. But anyways, this deck is consistent in value draws even without seeing a Jace, Architect of Thought and can handle most archtypes in the meta. Most games allowed me to stall past turn 5 before ever seeing a Desecration Demon or Stormbreath Dragon and I think that is what make's this deck scary, especially If Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver is not dealt with.

WIN CONS:

Stormbreath Dragon, Desecration Demon, blowing up any of the Planeswalkers

Against control:

Thoughtseize and Rakdos's Returnfor hand hate, all the counter cards, Ager of the Gods for tokens, Hero's Downfall, Dreadbore to get rid of creature win cons and planeswalkers. Sideboard has a majority of control counters.

Against weenies/aggro:

Hero's Downfall, and Dreadbore the more important creatures, bouncing creatures with counterspells, Mizzium Mortars, Anger of the Gods, overload Cyclonic Rift to board wipe if you can't keep up.

Against midrange:

This would be tricky IMO, (I have the least amount of experience against midrange mostly because it is a broad term and can contain many different strategies). It really depends on the deck. But if they take long enough, this deck will provide more answers than a normal midrange deck can hold in their hand by turn 7.

Sideboard: I have explained some of the sideboard but not all. Counterflux is the main counter against Esper and U/W and I can use it to protect win cons. Far / Away for the problem creatures or archetype win cons. Skullcrack is the counter for Sphinx's Revelation in those clutch moments. When it is used for life as opposed to draw, it can really hurt the opponent and solidify the game. Slaughter Games, again pro control. Ratchet Bomb in times of need.

Updates Add

Deck is dismantled, but had more fun with this deck than any other I've made. This is probably the best deck I've made without too much help from others. Now with BoTG out, I'm dropping blue and going Rakdos control / midrange.
