Hello one and all. I've seen when googling other gisa lists that someone consider thiers competitive. They claim to consistently win turn 6. I look at the list and I go to myself. Is your play group that bad? But enough of sounding like a pompus ass. Thier deck looks fun and strong.

My list looks to be a good value deck that's a jack of all trades for what black does. It uses it's life as a resource, it sacrifice creatures, it reanimates, it drain opponents will to live, you know the usual. My build I feel is a baseline for if you want to take it harder in any of those directions.

The goal of the build is to be as resilient as possible to hate. It's not totally focused around combat and not totally focused around reanimation. They are useful ways to help win but are not the be all end all.

The game can go many ways depending on board state and what you draw.

Sometimes I draw the hand where I am controlling the board and helping people in check.

Another draw can be me getting out a few Lord's and using gisa to make a swarm.

Sometimes I'm planning the long game and want to get reanimation going.

And others I'm planning on comboing out on turns 5-8.

The real power comes in the flexibility of plays and knowing all your outs. And just playing to them when possible.

I've taken out all card draw that I can draw on my turn like Read the Bones in favor of power draw engines that I can get value over a few turns.

I have 3 combos in the deck. Nim Deathmantle and Ashnod's Altar are the first two.

I pair them with either Grave Titan or Geralf's Messenger .

Titan will allow me to get infinite Mana and zombies in play. If I have drain outlet like Blood Artist or Zulaport Cutthroat I will win that turn. Or I can cast a Walking Ballista for a million or a exsanguate or Torment of Hailfire .

Geralfs messenger combos with itself. You sac it to altar. Comes back with undying. Sac again you have 4 Mana. To pay for mantle. It comes back with no counters. Repeat.

The other is Phyrexian Altar with gravecrawler plus a drain effect.

Hoping to get a Thornbite Staff so I can have one more combo in the deck. Equip it to gisa. Sac a creature untapping her. Use altar to sac a newly made token to make a black and repeat. If I have a drain I win. If I have a Lord out I have infinite zombies. And in turn infinite Mana to do with what I please.
