So with Splendid Reclamation revealed I instantly fell in love with it and had to make a deck. The other card I built around was The Gitrog Monster aka the gitgud frog.
Here is my logic for every card in this deck.
THIS IS OUT OF DATE. (I need to make time to update this)
CREATURES
The Gitrog Monster: this is one of the main cards in the deck. Not only is he a 6/6 deathtouch for 5 mana, but he also gives us and additional card draw per turn.
Mindwrack Demon
: mindwrack is just overall a great card. He is a 4/5 flier with trample that puts 4 towards delirium. Getting delirium in this deck is usually done by turn 3-4
Soul Swallower
: He's a 3 drop that gets out of control fast.
Tireless Tracker: This one I'm not to sure about. In most games i get anywhere between 2-15 clues out on the field, which is great. My only problem is I usually don't have the mana to use many of my clues, this is where my idea for
Confront the Unknown
comes in.
Sylvan Advocate
: Sylvan advocate is one of the best 2 drops in standard right now. Getting 6 lands out is not too hard for this deck. I might want to change sylvan out for
Grim Flayer
. My only hesitation is my sylvans don't usually do combat damage and sylvan can survive
Languish
while Grim doesn't. But I do like how much quicker I can get Grim buffed than Sylvan.
INSTANTS
Grapple with the Past: this is basically a better version than
Corpse Churn
as is lets me fetch a land in case I don't have a creature in my graveyard.
SORCERY
Splendid Reclamation
: This is the other important card in this deck. It brings back all my land and creates a mass landfall trigger.
Fork in the Road
: This card does so much for us. It puts any color land you want in your hand, it puts a land in my graveyard, to help with
Splendid Reclamation
, and it puts 2 towards delirium.
Traverse the Ulvenwald
: This is basically a tutor for only a G!!!!
ENCHANTMENTS
Crop Sigil
: Originally this was Vessel of Narscency But I rarely had the open mana to use it. Crop Sigil does what Vessel of Narscency couldn't and that's help get to delirium without spending anymore mana (at the cost of only fetching a land).
Retreat to Hagra
: This is another win condition when combo'd with Splendid Recamation for a lot of burn/lifegain.
PLANESWALKERS
Ob Nixilis Reignited: Honestly I'm not in love with him in this deck. He gives me card draw but I have alot of that. I put him in as another card type for delirium and also when I was considering Emrakul, the Promised End but now I'm not so sure. I have left him in as an uber expensive removal spell.
LANDS
Evolving Wilds: I know I shouldn't be running them in a 2 color deck, much less 4 of them but, this is probably the best land in the deck. It puts a land in the graveyard, which helps with delirium and
Splendid Reclamation
. When The Gitrog Monster is out, you get to draw a card. When Tireless Tracker is out you get 2 clues. When
Retreat to Hagra
is out, its a 4 point life swing.
Hissing Quagmire: Its a 2/2 deathtouch that's super hard to get rid of. Nuff said.
The cards in my Maybeboard that I haven't brought up
Bloodbriar
: This would be a great fit with all the sacrificing this deck does (The Gitrog Monster, Evolving Wilds, and clue tokens) however the only thing I would get rid of for them would be
Soul Swallower
, which I think does it's role much faster than bloodbriar ever could.
Seasons Past: This would be used to get important things back that Grapple with the Past can't get, such as
Retreat to Hagra
,
Splendid Reclamation
or maybe even Ob Nixilis Reignited. But idk what I would take out for them. Also there's the chance that I mill them and they just become dead weight.
Let me know what you think and would love to hear suggestions, and thanks for all the support.
