Paper Pauper Blue/Green Investigate/Clues
Simic Wavesifter + Confront the Unknown = Clueby Dooby-Doo

Create Clues, swing with flyers/tramplers, cast Confront the Unknown. Then do it again.

  • Start the game out with Hard Evidence or Floodhound. The former provides a good blocker and a Clue right away, but the latter is a decent mana-sink later in the game when you need Clues, either for damage or draw.
  • Next, you want to start digging through the deck with Merfolk Looter or Taigam's Scheming, both of which also help fill up the graveyard. You need to already have a card in hand for Merfolk Looter to be any good, meanwhile Taigam's Scheming can dig deep and put things in the yard to be retrieved later, but it does not actually draw you any cards. There might be better options here, so if you think of any, please let me know.
  • You could also start making Clues by casting Wavesifter for its evoke-cost. Don't worry about losing it forever, because we've got Grapple with the Past which you can use to recur and recast it when you have more mana. You could also just cast Grapple with the Past if you're desperate for something to do, but you run the risk of whiffing and not having a creature or land in your graveyard on Turn 2.
  • After that there's Eldrazi Skyspawner and Call the Scions. The former flies, and is thus a good way to get damage through via Confront the Unknown. The latter solely provides scions, but in any case the tokens provided can be sacrificed for ramp, allowing you to hard-cast the big spells later on. The tokens can also be useful as chump blockers, as well as the occasional swarm of attackers that can get around blockers and allow you to cast Confront the Unknown.
  • Those big spells mentioned are Wavesifter and Hooting Mandrills. Wavesifter is the standout creature in this deck because it creates TWO Clues, can be evoked for cheap (which still nets you two Clues) AND its a flyer, making it a good target for Confront the Unknown.
  • Hooting Mandrills can often be cast for a single because this deck can fill up the yard pretty quick. It also has trample and a decent body, making it another good attacker. Every card in this deck can be recurred somehow, but the important ones are Confront the Unknown and any card that makes a Clue. Feel free to delve away any card in the yard except for those.
  • Archaeioumancer is also here to retrieve copies of Confront the Unknown or Grapple with the Past, ensuring you can always have access to the stuff you need. It can get back any noncreature spell in this deck that you need however, even Call the Scions if you just need chumpers.
  • For "removal" there's Press for Answers, which taps down a troublesome creature for a turn and creates a Clue, of course. There's also a bit of redundancy included for "free" with Skyline Cascade, which doesn't actually force anything to tap, but can lock something down in the tapped position for a turn. Fighting might be a better form of removal in these colors, but Press for Answers creates a Clue.
