Bloodchief Ascension can be rather tricky to pull off, especially in fast-paced games. I'd rather save my Lightning Bolt until I have BA than deal a measly 3 damage to my opponent. However, I have used it to kill very annoying creatures before, in hopes of a Tezzeret's Gambit to refuel me later on.

Volt Charge and Staggershock have been crucial because they hit twice, but creature removal is big against non-black.

Gloom Surgeon and Vampire Nighthawk mostly to slow aggro, and nice that they can deal 2 damage.

I added Rakdos Charm for some control and versatility and Mindcrank for the instant win. Sideboard to modify the balance.
