Maybeboard

A friend of mine said "clerics suck..."

This deck is my answer to that statement.

Orah, Skyclave Hierophant is a powerhouse of a commander. Being able to bring back a cleric from the grave each time one dies leads to some really outrageous combos.

Even something as simple as having a 1, 2, 3, and 4 drop cleric on board with Orah and a sac outlet can lead to a huge amount of value.

To show the chain graphically, suppose means sack and means resurrect:

1 -> 2 -> 1 -> 1 -> 3 -> 2 -> 2 -> 1 -> 1 -> 4 -> 3 -> 3 -> 2 -> 2 -> 1 -> 1

If we sack and resurrect the 1, 2, 3, and 4 drop clerics in a proper sequence, we can get as many as 6 ETB triggers and 10 LTB triggers. That more than doubles when Teysa Karlov is out and is amplified exponentially with Mikaeus, the Unhallowed - provided the things you sack are not human. Might I mention, Mikaeus is also a cleric? I haven't even discussed 5 drops yet!

With cards like Agadeem's Awakening   and Doomed Necromancer, you can restock your field and do it all over again.

Honestly, the hard part is getting clerics in the grave or on board in the first place. If you're busy with non-clerics, Ashes of the Fallen has your back. Worst comes to worst, there's always Buried Alive and Altar of Dementia to fallback on.

Rather than play a potentially more optimal aristocrats build, I decided I wanted to play a more lifegain-matters kind of build.

Since I like the design of Teysa Karlov and Teysa, Envoy of Ghosts, I decided to fit them in here as best as I could which means I am also running a small tokens matters package as well.

So far in playtests, I've been having a lot of fun with this deck. It's not super great in 1v1 and it struggles occasionally with fliers. But overall the deck has a solid level of control. I'm happy with where the deck is at but, if someone wanted recommendations on how to expand the list, I might recommend tutors and faster ramp.
