Sideboard

As long as we control Haakon, we can cast Crib Swap and Nameless Inversion from the graveyard as much as we want. And that's the dream.

To get there, we use Collective Brutality, Geier Reach Sanitarium, or Liliana of the Veil to discard him. There's also a 1-of Jarad's Orders because I will take any excuse to play that card in modern. And while we're in the realm of playing Liliana and tribal instants, we may as well play Tarmogoyf.

Knight of the Reliquary is a crazy-powerful card on its own, but Haakon makes it more persistent, and Knight can tutor up Sanitarium to help us discard any Haakons who get stuck in our hand, so the two work together really well. Renegade Rallier, Dark Confidant, and Birds of Paradise help us get ahead quickly, and then Scavenging Ooze and Ramunap Excavator help us out-value the opponent and grind them to dust.

The deck straight-up loses to graveyard hate, but Abrupt Decay and Reclamation Sage out of the board help deal with Rest in Peace and Grafdigger's Cage. Eidolon of Rhetoric and Kitchen Finks give us a chance against Storm and Burn, respectively. Ravenous Trap is a fun gotcha for Dredge, and Surgical Extraction + Thoughtseize are a catch-all for combo decks, Bogles, and a few other fringe decks.

This deck started as a desire to have fun in modern again but it can actually win sometimes. Turning your opponent's creatures into alien babies is as much fun as I thought it would be.
