I wanted to make a deck that had the Phyrexian obliterator in it and i figured mono-black devotion was the way to go
Creatures
-gatekeeper of malakir: running a 4 of because its a nice cheap creature that can make the opponent sacrafice a creature
-gifted aetherborn: another 4 of because its a two mana 2/3 with deathtouch and lifelink, what's not to like?
-vampire nighthawk: pretty much a flying gifted aetherborn so why not
-Kalitas, Traitor of ghet: Another creature with lifelink and at least two swamp symbols, and with all the opponent's creatures dying it just generates tokens
-Phyrexian Obliterator: I mean does this one even need an explanation?
-Gray merchant of asphodel: takes all your devotion and gives you life while taking away theirs into oblivion
Other spells
-Inquisition of kozilek: a cheaper thoughtseize, get to rummage through their hand and get rid of something
-profane command: with the shrine to nyx this card can do alot, bring back creatures like the merchant or the obliterator, make them lose a lot of life, destroy one of their creatures, or give your creatures evaison, and best part is you get to pick two
-drown in sorrow: for those aggro decks that have a lot of early game creatures
-grasp of darkness: I keep on switching this with dismember cant really decide which one to use
-hero's downfall: for spot removal of a annoying creature or planeswalker at instant speed
-Phyrexian arena: you may be losing a life a turn but with the lifelink and the merchant shouldnt be a problem and you get to draw a card
Side Board
-Kalitas, Bloodchief of ghet: A big creature to side in if the games are going long, or fun to side in during free-for-alls
-thoughtseize: in case we need to side in some extra hand disruption
-Dispossess: A nice card to deal with the artifacts if our opponent is playing them
-Drown in sorrow: in case we need more removal
- grasp of darkness: same as above
-Nykthos, shrine to nyx: Just in case you need another one
