Welcome to Gripox!

the next rendition of performing competitive Grixis control lists!

the point of this list is to simultaneously present a threat your opponent has to remove whilst proactively limiting their resources.

The fast beats:

like the tier 2 grixis delver/control lists, this deck has a means to get out a Tasigur, the Golden Fang or a Gurmag Angler from your opening hand on turn 2-3 using Thought Scour and your fetch lands, (Polluted Delta, Bloodstained Mire, Scalding Tarn ) to feed your graveyard to cast them quickly. But this deck also has another means of achieving that fast paced casting, with Smallpox

a turn 3 Smallpox will feed a card from your hand, a land, and the card itself into the graveyard, whilst, removing a creature, land, and card from the hand of your opponent. with 2 fetches, or any combination of fetch,Lightning Bolt and Inquisition of Kozilek or an opponent removed Young Pyromancer played on your earlier 2 turns, is another avenue to get those heavy beaters out early.

Young Pyromancer is the other means to get a threat out early. It has synergies with Smallpox in that it produces a token when its cast, and can have the token be sac'ed to smallpox, leaving you with the generator on the field, and the enemy left wanting.

Fulminator Mage helps with the resource inhibition alongside Smallpox.

My favorite card in the deck, Grim Discovery is used to grab those threats you may have lost earlier in the game while simultaneously grabbing land you may have sac'ed, or a Fulminator Mage to continuously lock your opponent out from a colored mana they may need. It also allows you to grab fetches from your graveyard that can thin out your deck as the game progresses, making your top deck better, and allowing you to have more mana/delve targets for the delve creatures late game.

Liliana, the Last Hope is a great control piece against those pesky lingering souls/elves /other weenie decks, also a great late game lock piece if she sticks early.

Grixis Charm is a nice powerhouse play in many a situation. it pumps those tokens off of Young Pyromancer when you could be in a creature deadlock against your opponent, it can pop a land or hate permanant back to your opponents hand after you have removed some of them(further stifling them), and it can remove one of their threats, all at instant speed!

the rest of the build is pretty standard grixis, Inquisition of Kozilek, Lightning Bolt, Terminate/Dreadbore, Serum Visions, Thought Scour

Although it does not have the typical Jace, Vryn's Prodigy   or Snapcaster Mage. I didn't want snapcaster mage due to its +2 to all the cmc spells in the graveyard, and the slow plays that Jace can bring I didn't see significant enough in that it takes him 2 turns to be effective, whereas all other spells in the deck are very proactive from top deck.

I think if you give it a try you will see how well it fairs.
