My play group has been working on an alternative to the modern format. Right now we have a small facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/186223788485273/. Platform Modern is a take on the Modern format to address issues many people have with the regular modern format. This is not an official format by Wizards of the Coast, this group will act as the rules for the format. We borrowed the restriction rules from the video game Magic the Gathering Duels. The card pool begins in 8th edition and goes through the most recent standard set, just like sanctioned modern. While making a deck you are allowed 4 of each common, 3 of each uncommon, 2 of each rare, and 1 of each mythic. This does not include basic lands.
