Ain't he just a mouthful.
Suggestions appreciated!
This is a fairly cheap tiny leader deck, using Vorel of the Hull Clade to pump up everything
Remake #1, added protection from some of the popular tiny leaders
This deck has a few tactics, the main one is based around getting a creature out quick, then getting Vorel of the Hull Clade out third turn (hopefully), and using Champion's Helm, Lightning Greaves, and Alpha Authority to keep him alive.
Then double counters on the creature you got out, with the help of Kiora's Follower, Illusionist's Bracers, Minamo, School at Water's Edge,
Hunger of the Howlpack
,
Forced Adaptation
Solidarity of Heroes
, Hardened Scales, and
Quest for the Gemblades
.
Keep doubling for a while, using Spore Frog, Young Wolf, and
Hindervines
for emergency protection, making a creature get stupidly powerful, then start attacking.
Generally, you play the game according to your opening hand. With luck, you will end up with a creature, some protection, enough land (generally 2-3), and maybe some cards to help Vorel once he gets out.
If you start with one of the defensive cards, such as Thallid or Utopia Mycon, go off them. Get vorel out as soon as possible and start doubling. End up with a load of saprolings as early as possible. With a more offensive start, such as Experiment One, do the same thing. Get Vorel, double.
Creatures good for doubling- Champion of Lambholt- Useful if gotten out early, in 2-3 everything becomes basically unblockable.
Cloudfin Raptor- Flying is another useful version, very very seldom will you find people with powerful flyers, or even any flying at all.
Experiment One- Best green one-drop, basically indestructible once it's been doubled a few times.
Joven's Ferrets
- The buff from attacking is helpful, even late game, simply for free damage, since no one wants to block it.
Thallid- Useful if playing a more defensive game, after a few turns you start getting a lot of Saprolings.
Utopia Mycon- Same as Thallid.
Chasm Skulker- A great target for a defensive game as well, as it makes your opponent(s) afraid to kill it, as you will still have a load of squids, and that is more terrifying than anything I can imagine.
Mana Storage/Dumps-
Astral Cornucopia
,
Druids' Repository
and Everflowing Chalice can easily get lots of counters quickly, giving
Vastwood Hydra
, Primordial Hydra or Gelatinous Genesis some very fat Xs. Nothing feels quite as good as getting 20 40/40 oozes.
For protection (against some popular Tiny Leaders deck strategies)- Against Artifacts/Equipment decks, Arcane Lighthouse,
Energy Flux
, and
Rebuild
will give you a big advantage.
-Against any deck using the commander as the primary combo card, Lignify works wonders.
-Against any deck using one large very powerful card attacking (usually the commander), Vow of Wildness stops them in their tracks.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
