My friend build an Orzhov commander deck, with Obzedat, Ghost Council as her commander, and it just tears up the group. She told me it was based on a 60-card deck. Apparently, before I joined the group, they all built 60-card decks based on the 10 guilds. Since no one chose Azorius, and since I happen to love the Azorius cards, I decided to use the Azorius cards as a foundation for a commander deck.

My commander is Lavinia of the Tenth, who appears to be the Azorius version of Obzedat.

This deck list will eventually coalesce into an actual deck, but for the moment it's primarily a personal "primer" for me to use as a springboard. Using her Obzedat deck as my reference guide, and analyzing her card choices and synergy, hopefully I'll be able to harness the power of the Azorius in the same way she's harness the Orzhov.

For any suggestions, it appears that I'm primarily looking at the Detain mechanic, as well as cards that emphasize tap, bounce, and other forms of control. Flash and Forecast seem to be prevalent as well.
