Chickened out of using Ainok Guide just before last FNM and replaced it with Plains (land 22).
Lost twice (1-2) to solid Jeskai Black builds piloted by solid players. Won my other match quite handily (forget the deck). Overall, pleased.
Citadel Siege was great but didn't show up to the party that often. Maybe consider a 2x.
Want to bring 1xDen Protector back to MB. Very happy with decisions to demote Valorous Stance, pre-board the Silkwrap (really is good against every deck in my meta). Only got Evolutionary Leap cast once and was pleased with it, but don't mind it sitting in the SB for now.
The real deal against Jeskai Black, aside from Silkwrap, is Display of Dominance. Sit back and enjoy when you outright kill a Jace for 2 mana while your opponent reads the card and scratches his head. So much Jeskai Black (and other Jace decks) these days that I'm upping to 3x in the SB.
Really looking for something to cut off the graveyard shenanigans from Jeskai Black. Kolaghan's Command and Ojutai's Command coming out fo the graveyard, not to mention Jace, is how they seem to beat us. Hallowed Moonlight or even Anafenza, the Foremost only deal with creatures coming out of the GY. I've seen builds that splash blue for 4x Stubborn Denial, which is a pretty reasonable response to this problem. Funny thing is blue is the third of the other colors I've considered splashing. Funny how fast #3 can move to #1 in your mind.
One of the Jeskai Black players is championship level and we often talk. He likes the Outpost Siege and Gideon, Ally of Zendikar out of the SB against him, too. He's not too impressed with Center Soul. I'm slightly less impressed with it than I thought I'd be, but not because of the same reasons he mentioned. What troubles me is that there are more colorless creatures and devoid spells running around than I gave credit for. But in matches where there's not so much colorless, I'm still a believer.
There's a little less Atarka Red in the meta these days, so I can lighten up on the anti-red SB and concentrate more on Jeskai Black. No other matchups seem all that bad for our deck so far.
Impressed with the decision to include at least some Endless One. Really smooths out the board. It's still the least impressive creature in the deck, however, and I'm often quick to side it out before the others. Undergrowth Champion didn't do much for me - had to come out for curve reasons on T3 too often and usually other creatures seem to be more attractive to pump. Surprising, no? I'd still not be surprised if I want to go to 2x, but for now I'm not sure the second copy has earned its way into the SB.
So far I like the 1x Surrak, the Hunt Caller to side in against slower decks on the play. Well worth the single SB slot. We're so good on the play already that it's usually just game over.
My biggest sideboarding concerns is removing too many creatures to replace with spells. At too low a creature count I don't feel the deck really goes off as often. Sitting with this deck and an open board, sometimes even with a lonely Hardened Scales mocking me, is just a really lousy feeling. (Don't worry, though, the deck goes off often enough to make up for it!) I'd like to come up with a sense of how many creatures I should treat as a practical minimum after SB'ing.
