This deck was first built for friends of mine that wanted to learn MTG. It is easy to play with but still quite efficient.

I provide no sideboard since i did not plan to play it at competitive level. It is more a casual deck for someone who would want a first try into the Legacy format without paying too much. I will also suggest some alternative cards to make it even more budget.

The plan

  • Many creatures with haste and enough cards to make sure there is a free path. Soon, your opponent will learn to be cautious even if your board looks quite empty now as you can strike for quite a lot of damage.

  • Sarkhan Vol ultimate is the B-plan.

  • Some cards that produce CA so the deck can have a second breath if it can't kill quickly.

The creatures

  • Kird Ape : at it best when it comes down early in the game. Your opponent won't want to waste a removal on it so it can easily deal 4-6 damage before heavy creatures hits the battlefield. A great blocker later in the game.

  • Strangleroot Geist : quick and usually require two cards to be dealt with.

  • Tarmogoyf : a great beater but you can put here your favorite two drop creature. There are many of them less expensive that would do the job too.

  • Boggart Ram-gang : Quick and wither can help against heavy creatures. The best beater you could get with the elfe cascade.

  • Ohran Viper : it will make you win in the long run as it gives only bad choices to your opponent. Try it and you will love it.

  • Bloodbraided elfe : quick beater. The cascade generate nice advantage and the deck was built taking it in account.
