Basically the deck is built to hate out the most common strategies in the format. For example, Thalia handles Storm and Tron, Leonin Arbiter/Aven Mindcensor stop Melira Pod, and Kataki is basically a board-wipe against Affinity. The goal is to drop whatever creatures deal with what the opponent is playing, and shut them down as early as turn 3.
