The key to any heartless summoning deck is how to survive WITHOUT heartless summoning.

This deck does just that, with Abrupt Decay and early drops such as Gyre Sage and Vampire Nighthawk (stall) to get your big creatures out. Sideboard more removal against aggro matchups, and this deck is good to go.

If Heartless Summoning is drawn, then a whole world of possibilities open. Thragtusk is a three mana wonder. Desecration Demon is a two drop 5/5. Primordial Hydra enters with two guaranteed counters at two mana. Deadbridge Goliath scavenges after any board wipes. Everything evolves Gyre Sage. Corpsejack Menace boosts the +1/+1 counter interaction with everything. All in all, this deck aims to go for the grand finish. Bioshift is put in for further Corpsejack Menace abuse, and can conveniently shift a bounced creature onto another for the finish.

Golgari Charm and Abrupt Decay both double as potential removal and can also destroy your own Heartless Summoning, if need be. This can lead to just that amount of lethal damage needed or a neat combat trick against your opponent. Charm also can protect against board wipe.

I see this deck may fall short against control match-ups potentially, but can still hold it's ground with Duress sideboard, or Ring of Evos Isle your hitters for hexproof. Getting past counter-spells will still be an issue, however. Comment/advice and I will do so for yours too, thanks!
