An homage to the Nightshade Peddler Triskelion type combo decks but in red/white and a little bit of personal flavor.
A friend of mine plays a copy of Eiganjo Castle in his edh deck and whenever it comes out, we always refer to it as White Castle. When Khans of Tarkir was released, he added a copy of
Herald of Anafenza
and as soon as I saw Herald and White Castle I was inspired to create a cheesy deck.
Kumano, Master Yamabushi was the closest I could come to Kumar, and his ability harkens back to an old Nightshade Peddler deck where you would soulbond him with a creature that could ping and boardwipe your oponent.
The goal here is to get out your deathtouch artifacts, equip them to
Goblin Sharpshooter
Wojek Embermage
or Kumano, Master Yamabushi to prevent your oponent from getting a creature advantage. Equipping
Wojek Embermage
with Neko-Te provides some great control if you don't have your deathtouch artifacts out.
The deck isn't made with a particular win condition at this point, but I am looking for suggestions to help bulk up the deck!
Herald of Anafenza
doesn't fit the overall theme of the deck as well as I'd like it to, but it's the only Herald I could find on Gatherer that would even provide SOME value to this deck. Any suggestions for improvements would be great, but please keep in mind that I'll always be including Kumano, Master Yamabushi Eiganjo Castle and some Herald to keep with the original gimmick/theme of the deck.
When going up against a deck with indestructibles, sideboard the Quietus Spikes with Neko-Tes that you can throw on the
Wojek Embermage
s to tap down large groups of creatures.
I'm very much looking for any infinite red mana generators so I can continually use Kumano, Master Yamabushi's ability, and
Braid of Fire
is currently my solution to that. In order to consider a combo/source of mana, I'm looking for a suggestion to fit one of three categories:
It can be dropped turn 4 for 2 mana (Turn 1 land, Basilisk Collar Turn 2 land Turn 3 land,
Goblin Sharpshooter
turn 4, land, equip the sharpshooter for 2 and have 2 open mana, then Kumano comes out turn 5)
It can be dropped turn 1 or turn 4 and is green so I can have an excuse to put in Nightshade Peddler to accomplish a turn structure like this (Turn 1, land + your suggestion, Turn 2 land, Nightshade Peddler, Turn 3 land,
Goblin Sharpshooter
, Turn 4 land + your suggestion, Turn 5 land, Kumano)
It is a method to give a

or Kumano deathtouch in a more effective way, while also offering me a route to generate mana
