With Chulane’s spoiler this week, I knew immediately that I wanted to build around him. My play group tends to be on the competitive side of the house and previous Bant decks have been too slow or durdly for my liking. Chulane is the perfect value commander and looks like it can keep up with my meta.

My goal is to create a few but simple lines of winning the game:

1. Aluren + any bounce creature + Chulane = Draw deck, put all lands into play, play Laboratory Maniac and win

2. Food Chain + Eternal Scourge = Infinite mana, cast Chulane = Same as 1

3. Intruder Alarm + Mana dork with {U} + Shrieking Drake + Chulane = Same as 1

4. Cloudstone Curio + Quirion Ranger + Wirewood Symbiote + Bloom Tender + Chulane= Same as 1

5. Aluren + any bounce creature + Aetherflux Reservoir = Gain infinite life, zap the table for win

6. Any infinite mana combo above + Walking Ballista = zap the table for win

I think I named all or most of the main combos? The rest of the deck is support for those lanes of victory. I’ve included all the white creature tutors for 1 drops for either getting Shrieking Drake, Quirion Combo, Protection creatures (Mother of Runes or Sylvan Safekeeper), or mana dorks if necessary. I can use Flash and Protean Hulk to get out necessary creatures out or use Flash and Academy Rector to grab combo pieces.

I’ve included a few hatebears (Gaddock Teeg, Aven Mindcensor, Thalia, and Grand Abolisher) and pillow fort cards (Propaganda, Ghostly Prison) to protect myself, Chulane and/or my board. There are a few counterspells and protection spells (Teferi’s Protection/Cyclonic Rift). And of course I have a suite of tutor cards to grab relevant combo pieces depending on my initial hand.

This was just my initial brew so please let me know your suggestions or feedback! There are a number of creatures that bounce themselves and I'm still figuring out which and how many to run.
