Theme:

A mono-white deck whose creature focus is Humans, almost to simulate an army. In the world of Magic, with fanciful creatures and spells and demons, I like the idea of building an army with just plain humans, who by themselves are nothing too special, but when combined can take out even the fiercest of monsters. I like playing this deck because I myself am a human (surprise!), and it feels as though I am commanding my own personal army. There is one angel in this deck ( Voice of the Provinces ) for thematic reasons and because it itself produces a human.

Focuses:

• Army: Low cost character creation with multiple buffs through equipment and enchantments that provide extra benefits for Humans.

• Life Gain: Somewhat minimal (compared to Angelic Immortality) to keep myself above the competition

• Color Protection: Being the archenemy of White, and one of the more potent weaknesses of a mono-white deck, there is a little Swampwalk and Protection from Black in here to keep attacks swinging against. Probably going to add a recently acquired Soldier of the Pantheon to get some Multicolor protection. And my Fiendslayer Paladin will give me some protection from Black and Red spell casting.

• Emergency Maneuver: Humility is in here just in case SHTF and I need to wipe some BIG opponents off the board. But it is technically not legal for Modern, so may end up replacing it with Planar Cleansing or Wrath of God, with the hopes that after such an event Knight Exemplar and/or Knight of the Holy Nimbus will keep me on the board, or Angel of Glory's Rise will bring me out of the hole.

• Odds and Ends: I like a well rounded deck that can compensate for just about anything. There is some flying (or flight producing buffs) in here to get over ground forces and protect against flying opponents.

Help Wanted:

Any and all advice, suggestions, comments, and criticisms are welcome.

Not currently seeking any specific advice for this deck, aside from possibly items to remove to bring down total card count, but then again I am always happy with an 80 card deck. I know every stresses you should stay around 60, but 80 is comfortable for me.

I am currently working out suggestions to fit the deck, and one of my main concerns is keeping the average CMC low.

But if you have ANY suggestions or advice, I am all ears.

My Thoughts:

I have been playing this deck a good bit in recreational playing with friends. While it has had limited exposure to a variety of deck types and opponent play styles, it has held up very well and wins the majority of battles. It has withstood mills and monsters.

I have considered adding humans from other colors, but (A) I like keeping the theme White as it just feels right to suit the human aspect, and (B) that would mean adjusting cards to accommodate the addition of a variety of mana pools to consistently play various colored human creatures. It is not out of the question, but it feels it would cause more problems and instability that would not justify the benefit of the other cards. I welcome your thoughts on this.

All in all I feel this is a really strong deck with a tight, cohesive theme. The multitude of low cost creatures and low cost equipment and enchantments (current Average CMC 2.63) makes for quick advancement onto the battlefield, with a chance to buff low creatures to monster stats that can contend with almost anything the opponent unleashes.
