Horde 'n Friends Semi-Budget

Commander / EDH

FallenFromGlory

This is a Horde of Notions EDH deck, "There are many like it, but this one is mine."

If you have a bottomless wallet, add an Animar, Soul of Elements and a Vigor, which are 27 and 15 dollars respectively as of the creation of this deck.

For even more budget, take out Maelstrom Wanderer, which is 8 dollars.

For stratagies, The main way you are going to win with this deck is with Sunflare Shaman.

Another good combo is Quicksilver Elemental + Smokebraider + Hateflayer, which is even better if you include Illusionist's Bracers and/or Seething Pathblazer.

The Bracers allow infinite untaps on Tidewater Minion, and infinite untaps OR taps with Tideforce Elemental + Smokebraider.

The deck has a ton of control, with targeted removal for Lands with Stingmoggie, Artifacts with Ingot Chewer, Enchantments with Wispmare, and has many ways to deal with creatures, most notably being Crib Swap.

(Keep in mind that when using Horde's activated ability, it can be played at ability speed, which supersedes a cards normal casting speed, essentially giving everything in your deck except the Bracers and the wheel effect cards flash as long as they are in your graveyard.)

The Bracers are incredibly good, but not vital, so I am not including a card to recur it, nor any to specifically protect it. You will have plenty of ways to win without them, though it is required for the only infinite combos this deck has, so don't throw them away.

Use the Hydromorph creatures to protect your important elementals from going into exile mid-combo, and sac them with any sac outlet you have out at the time before you let them disappear for the rest of the game.

Hoofprints of the Stag is normally too slow to be good, but with the amount of wheel effects I have included, you could easily pump out 2 or 3 in a single turn.

Tyrant of Discord is going to be your best and most reliable board wipe. Don't be afraid to sac him to use his ability more than once during an opponents turn!

Use Skullmuncher to sac your ETB Elementals for later recursion, and draw up a ton of cards, then Tar Fiend later to dump your expensive Elementals.

Quicksilver Elemental can make the most broken Abilities happen again. (Soulbright Flamekin twice! Sunflare Shaman twice! Incandescent Soulstoke twice!)

Speaking of Incandescent Soulstoke, use him to bring out Maelstrom Wanderer whenever possible, then play him again from the graveyard next turn. Sac him to Doomgape and repeat until your board is filled with Elementals.

Protect your most important card with Supreme Exemplar, and use Flickerwisp to trigger ETBs without killing your creature. Or to trigger Maelstrom again. It's your choice.

There are SO many ways to play this deck, and it has a lot of room for editing. I could honestly include so many artifacts to make this deck go infinite reliably by turn 4, but a) I didn't set out to build a competitive deck, I set out to build a fun one and b) I did what I could to stay on theme as much as I could. Almost every card in the deck is an Elemental. If it isn't, it is either a wheel effect, or the one equipment I decided was too good to pass up. So use those ETBs and Activated Abilities to their fullest potential, pump up that Bloodbriar with Evoke cards, and find answers with Flamekin Harbinger!

If you see another fun combo I missed, or have an Elemental in mind you are surprised you didn't see here, let me know!

Your options are endless when you stop limiting yourself to fully formed ideas, and instead rely on Notions.
