How to stop flaming werewolves

Modern Combo Four Color

Sideboard

Maybeboard

with a cascade of silver bullets.

This is a concept that I recently started working with it. I have looked online and currently have found no decks that operate like this one (using Research and cascade spells to find the silver bullets).

maindeck is fairly straight forward. cast a spell with cascade. when you do, cast Research to start putting your silver bullets into the deck. or cast Wheel of Sun and Moon so that you never run out of cascade targets. if you manage to hit 3 Research cards before hitting Wheel of Sun and Moon, make sure you add in the 4th from the sideboard and a Noxious Revival with your last Research .

from there you cascade into whatever card hates out your opponents deck as much as possible (or cards if you need to assemble a few). then proceed to cascade into Development each turn until you overwhelm your opponent with tokens.

Mind Spike and Dismember are there to fill some of the mainboard with a few cards above 2cmc that can be played for less than 2cmc. they should be able to help you survive until you can cascade once or twice.

I'm also testing out some planeswalkers in the build.

now for the extremely important sideboard.

Restore Balance : the only creatures you make are 3/1s that die to just about everything and can trade relatively easily. bring this in to wipe boards. its also good to set back the opponent in lands if you managed to bounce one of yours for a border post. this card is great against decks that aim to swarm you or win with card advantage. try to swing your board into a massacre first if possible. that way you wipe the field clean.

Beck//Call: this card will mostly be used for Call which can be cast off cascade due to the fact that cascade just needs you to reveal a spell with cmc 2 or less. which Beck has. then you can cast the card. now that youre casting the card, you chose which half to cast. this helps provide some blockers for the decks that try to win in the air or maybe have only 1 or 2 big beaters that you can't get them to sac to Restore Balance . or if you know that they are holding back threats in their hand to avoid a blowout from balance.

Boom// Bust : see Beck//Call for why you can cast Bust off cascade. but this can wipe out all the land or just a few. borderposts help you stay near the mana needed to cascade. from there you can Armageddon to your heart's content. helpful against Scapeshift and manlands. also great against 3+ color decks where you can shut them out of a color.

Spellskite: slightly mitigates damge from burn/scapeshift/aggro decks. can even block some midrange creatures like Kitchen Finks.

Rakdos Charm : artifact hate, graveyard hate, token hate. this card is a sideboard bomb.

Vexing Shusher: control can mess things up for you by countering your important cards. shusher helps make sure you resolve your bullets.

Wheel of Sun and Moon: always bring a spare incase something happens to the one mainboard (discard, enchantment hate etc). or if you need to throw one on the opponent (dredge).

Heroes' Reunion: stops burn and gives you some much needed time against aggressive decks. especially considering how much damage you can take from your own lands.

Noxious Revival: in case the bullet you put into the deck, managed to find its way to the grave.

Research : mostly for when you managed to hit all your researches before finding moon.

Leonin Arbiter: makes it harder for 3+ color decks to build there mana base. works great with Bust to lead to devastating rebuild times.

Seal of Fire: decks that play man lands or protection spells like infect need an answer at instant speed, but i can't consistently cast cascade at that speed. this is my current answer.

Declaration of Naught: stop _inser_combo_card_here.

Seek : both halves are great sideboard tech. hide any troublesome enchantment or artifact. or seek out any combo pieces. or maybe just gain life in a pinch.

Engineered Explosives: kills tokens. also gets rid of chalice on 2 which is otherwise game breaking for us. never a bad idea to actually side this in G2 if you think they have chalice side and might land it before you can research.

There are a few things I need to figure out though.

1) what are the best 15 cards to put in the sideboard. this is a crucial question. right now i like the 15 that i have, but im not sure if they cover enough of the meta.

2) what cards could go in the mainboard over some of the current cards. i personally dont like Beast Within which is the go-to removal spell for Living End decks which operate on a similar premise.

maybeboard: cards that i am or was thinking about but didnt make it into the sideboard

Golgari Charm: enchantment hate. small creature hate. and also can regen your creatures. that last one won't really matter much, but its nice to have options.

Spirit of the Labyrinth: stops storm, but didnt seem to do enough.

Pyroclasm : traditional cheap board wipe. but basically held the same role as Restore Balance

Stony Silence: effectively shuts down affinity and can slow down tron. but i already have several other cards to deal with affinity.

Meddling Mage: stop insert_specific_card name_here. great at stopping one card. but is fairly easily removed.

Pithing Needle: mostly planeswalkers but hit other things as well. harder to remove than Meddling Mage but had much more narrow applications.

Breaking // Entering : beats recursion at it's own game. but pretty much only beat recursion. although it could bring back some value creatures from say BGx decks.

Odds // Ends : great when timed properly. but Violent Outburst is the only instant speed cascade spell we play. and thats not consistent enough.

Glaring Spotlight: mostly meant as a way to protect Vexing Shusher from removal.

please feel free to leave suggestions on what you think of the deck. its brand new so i'm pretty open to suggestions. some things i will say though. this deck is not meant to be a regular cascabalnce deck even though it plays Restore Balance . please suggest cards you think would be great in the bulletboard (sideboard). please also suggest what you think should come out. Thank you for any and all criticism.
