Counters, sweet and lovely counters. I can get Primordial Hydra to over 1000/1000 by turn 7 or 8 if I draw ideally. It's weak to removal, but what creature based deck isn't? It's also fairly versatile, with many different ways to deal you 20 damage by turn 5 or 6.
The main strategies in the deck are these:- Use Managorger Hydra to improve your board as your opponent improves his- Use Primordial Hydra for that sweet exponential curve beatdown- Use Corpsejack Menace to make the hydras get swole even faster- Use Kalonian Hydra for some just absolutely unfair and ridiculous doubling and tripling action.
Side note- Overwhelming Stampede
also wins the game a lot, especially if I have a few Birds of Paradise out for that evasive flying damage.
The Maybeboard is essentially ideas for possible future additions depending on how the deck performs at FNM.
I am looking for help with my sideboard, along with any suggestions for other creatures or spells that would fit and make the deck better.
