Maybeboard

As you can probably tell, the deck is Grixis control.

One thing I think I have the most trouble with (in general, really) is figuring out what my sideboarding plan is. My contingency is usually to just put in stuff that can be useful in whatever situations I might have trouble with, but that's not very effective when those situations may simply be anomalies.

What I think would be a better plan is to know what kind of deck I want to turn into facing various decks that are in the metagame (at least that's what I've noticed strategically-minded players do). The problem is actually figuring out what plans those are and what fits best within them (and has the best overlap between them in terms of card choice). Since I started getting back into Magic after Dark Ascension came out, and didn't get any reasonable amount of new cards until M13, my familiarity with the sets in Innistrad block is pretty weak. For example, I still get surprised by things like Heartless Summoning, because I simply wasn't playing when that deck (with Perilous Myr) was being played in Standard.

Now, this isn't to say my main deck doesn't necessarily need work - I'm sure some of the top-tier cards could help out, though getting them is kind of an issue for me at the moment (still don't have the second Thundermaw Hellkite, two of the Snapcaster Mages, three Sulfur Falls, and a couple of other cards) - any help in that regard is welcome, of course. I just think that at this point my sideboard is the main issue I need to evaluate.

Updates Add

Main:

+2 Devil's Play for another wincon. +2 Rakdos's Return for more control. +2 Pillar of Flame to deal with the meta. +2 Gilded Lotus to support my big spells. +2 Mountain, +1 Swamp to help my mana base. +1 Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker to survive removal, etc. -4 Guttersnipe, because it wasn't doing enough. -3 Unsummon not the right deck. -3 Evil Twin better in the side. -2 Undying Evil not enough creatures or ETB effects.

Side:

-2 Rakdos's Return better in main. -2 Pillar of Flame better in main. -2 Thunderbolt too narrow. -2 Reverberate too narrow. +2 Blasphemous Act for more mass creature removal, though I may replace it with two Flames of the Firebrand. +2 Olivia Voldaren just solid. +2 Rolling Temblor for the fast creature decks. If I don't remove Blasphemous Act for Flames of the Firebrand, I may do so here. Both scenarios depend on their performance, of course. +2 Evil Twin good answer for several important creatures and legends.
