Basic description: This deck is a blue-green-black turbo fog deck, using mill as a win condition.
Deck "Maybe if I hit the lottery..." list: 4x Mana Drain, 4x Tropical Island, 1x The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
CURRENT DILEMMA #1: I'd like to add in copies of Tangle, but I can't decide if I should cut Respite, Moment's Peace, or Fog itself, in order to make room. Between Respite's life gain, the flashback on Moment's Peace, and Fog's low mana cost, they all have their plusses. Thoughts and recommendations are always appreciated.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. Why U/G/B instead of the more powerful U/W build?
A. The answer to this is two-fold. First and foremost, my friends and I don't do much tournament play. As a result, the deck doesn't need to be able to beat every top 8 deck in the meta. It just needs to be able to beat my friends. Secondly, I initially chose a blue-green build, splashing in black later, over a blue-white build purely as a matter of personal preference. Blue-white control decks are everywhere, and deservedly so, as they are consistently powerful decks. I saw that there was a way to build the concept in blue-green instead, and decided to take the road seemingly less traveled.
Q. Why aren't there any creatures?
A. Another two-part answer. First, keeping the deck completely creature-free is a sort of challenge to myself to do something different. I've had plenty of decks that had plenty of creatures. With this deck, I wanted to do something I'd never done before. Secondly, I've continued to keep the deck creature-free because, quite frankly, in a bit of schadenfreude, I rather enjoy watching the confusion and frustration on my opponents' faces, when they keep attacking with creature after creature, but can rarely land any damage on me.
