I Take That Back - Big Dumb Grixis Spell Abuse

Casual Battlecruiser Budget Casual Jank UBR (Grixis)

HarleyP

Just a janky nonsense deck centered around the greatest card in all of Amonkhet, Wildfire Eternal. I really feel if this guy had haste, he would've been an all-star in standard and maybe fringe play in Modern. There are so many ways to build this deck, and so many incredible big fat spells in Magic's history. I went with cards that aren't that big of a feel bad for my opponent. Quarantine has taught an important lesson - No one likes "lose the game" cards.

If you can manage to untap with this good boy, you force your opponent to eat 4 damage, which after one or two swings, they can't make that trade. When they finally buckle, get settled into some of your big f*** off spells.

The classics are here with Cruel Ultimatum and Searing Wind, and some cool combo cards that are fun to play with.

I tried to make the deck as fair as possible. Having big explosive plays that end the game on turn 5 through direct damage feels better for the opponent than extra turn spells, board wipes, and the other REALLY fun stuff Grixis colors are known for. You still gotta have people to play with at the end of the day!

We have a small package with Young Pyromancer and some cantrips to smooth our draws, as well as fill the board with blockers while you gear up for your haymakers. Some counters to be used offensively and defensively.

The land base is strictly budget. In the event of an emergency and you HAVE to hard cast them beefy spells, I thought the bounce-lands would help get us to 7-10 mana faster. In the beginning of quarantine we made a house rule, tapped lands come in untapped, cause who wants to spend 40 bucks on 1 set of shocklands man.

Anywho this is the first iteration. If anyone has suggestions for big dumb janky spells that are BEGGING to be cheated out, I'd love to hear it!

EDIT

Added 2 Kess, Dissident Mage and took out 2 Jeleva, Nephalia's Scourge. I picked up a playset to build another Grixis spells deck, and found her to be so potent, and so many moments of "oh thank god" when I draw into her. Jevela is still fun, but I'll see if she pulls her weight as much as Kess.
