Legacy is the best format in magic.

I entered legacy with Dark Knight Delver. It was a blast to play until Deathrite Shaman got banned. I traded my Trop and Scrubland for a Volcanic Island and played Jeskai DelverBlade for a bit, and I saw decent results, but the deck wasn't really me. It didn't have a high enough density of blue cards, especially in the sideboard. And while I liked Stoneforge in a Delver shell, I missed playing black spells. One week I decided to sleeve up Esper with shocklands to try out something new, and I piloted it to a 3-1 finish, just missed 4-0, and had so much fun playing with Thoughtseize again. That night I impulse-bought an Underground Sea, sold my Volcanic Island to pay for it, and now here we are. Ironically, Dreadhorde Arcanist entered legacy not long after I switched to Esper, and would have been an amazing addition to Jeskai DelverBlade. Oh well. Esper is more my thing anyway. End of summer of 2019 this deck had an amazing run at my LGS, where I cashed (top 4) every week for a month straight.

If you are a modern player and have fetch lands and shock lands, I highly recommend trying out legacy. You do not need dual lands. You do need a force to play blue, but Force of Negation is close enough to Force of Will, and is much cheaper. If blue isn't really your thing, then the only expensive card that you need to play Maverick is Wasteland.
