I've been playing Magic for half a year now but I picked it up fairly quickly. This is not the first time I build a deck, but it is the first time on this website.
The idea of this deck is to deny early game spells and to take over with Daxos of Meletis, Nightveil Specter, Sen Triplets and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver.
With friends we often play multiplayer with a 3 or 4 man free-for-all. I would like this deck to be able to compete in such a format but also not to be dependent of it.
I've made a some changes to the deck. I will explain the chosen cards below:
Creatures:
Sen Triplets, Nightveil Specter and Daxos of Meletis are the creatures which form the center of this deck.
Grand Arbiter Augustin IV - Besides the above mentioned creatures I don't feel like adding more creatures unless they are beneficial. Grand Arbiter Augustin IV is such a creature. Makes spell cheaper and makes spell for opponents more expensive.
Planeswalkers:
Jace, Architect of Thought - Good for card draw and his +1 ability helps as well
Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver - Same purpose as the creatures (stealing creatures)
Sorcery's:
Serum Visions - Cheap for what it does, and that is drawing a card and influencing the upcoming draws
Enchantments:
Ghostly Prison - Both in multiplayer as in 1v1 a real good barrier
Instants:
Azorius Charm - All three options are relevant. Especially "Put target attacking or blocking creature on top of its owner's library" in combination with Daxos of Meletis and Nightveil Specter. Attack with one of both, play Azorius Charm if it gets blocked and maybe even play that creature post combat. Real good synergy.
Cyclonic Rift - Good for returning all non land cards to hand. Playing it for it's overload cost just before your turn makes it a bomb in combination with Sen Triplets
Disperse - Same as Cyclonic Rift. I'd rather have Snap, but it isn't Modern legal (suggestions are welcome!)
Mana Leak - Just for countering things you want to be gone
