To start off, I haven't been playing magic long, and until about a week ago I have only played with one other person.
But whilst at a FNM I realised that my Red/White deck just wasn't ready for play at FNM. And my Blue/Black mill still needs work.
So I threw this deck together one afternoon on my lunch break.
(Be aware I am only using cards I own. to insure I can throw together a deck straight away, and I'm not a big fan of buying particular cards, I enjoy the fun of opening boosters and trading),
I really wanted to use Hydra's for something so this is what I came up with, but it has devolved beyond that point now and has become more of a utility deck with different ways of play besides the Hydra's.
This whole deck was based on the premise of this deck was to use Ramp to activate the Mistcutter Hydra, and to pump out tokens from Spore Mound to, in turn, Power the Scourge of Skola Vale (Creatures for bait if you will).
The Dredge Scorpions, and other deathtouch 1 to 2 drops are early defenders and make good on stopping rush assaults.
Enough instants to get my cards pumped up for the kill, and a few enchantments and sorceries to drive effects for overall better effectiveness and ramp and so on.
But I found scavenging ooze, a card I threw in as I had it, did a lot of the work when I played on MTGO, as well as Reverent Hunter and that the tokens from Sporemound could win all on their own.
I know the deck has its limitations, I played against an Agent of Fates, Pulling strings deck and was massacred as I didn't have any proper removals. but I want to try and make a better mono green while still keeping up with the versatility and variety.
Im not ironclad though. But thoughts and suggestions would be appreciated.
