Sideboard

All of my decks are under 25$, this one comes in at a little over. The design was to build a fun mono blue deck that didn't use the expensive Master of Waves found in every blue deck currently in standard(1 Master of Waves is over half of my budget), while still maintaining a very "blue" feel. It is also very fun to play.

The basic goal is to use some fancy blue tricks like Rapid Hybridization and Dissolve to manage threats until I cast AEtherling.

Omenspeaker helps to fix any bad draws mid game, he also makes a nice blocker until Wall of Frost.

Phantom Warrior can help do some damage and get the ball rolling for AEtherling, he also combos really nice with Bident of Thassa.

A combination of Wall of Frost, Rapid Hybridization, Disperse, and Bident of Thassa help me to control my opponents creatures. Bident of Thassa also has the nice benefit of giving me card advantage if I can attack with an AEtherling or Phantom Warrior. I have also used Rapid Hybridization on my own creatures to destroy a tapped Omenspeaker and provide an insta blocker(super fun!).

And of course, in every blue deck,Dissolve and Cancel are another form of threat reduction. Oooo, nice enchantment you casted, and I don't like it, COUNTER!

Traveler's Amulet just makes this whole process faster, it's my first turn spell. And if I don't end up using the 3 lands I saved in case I had to Dissolve something, I can activate Traveler's Amulet ability.

Sideboard:

Mizzium Skin, AEtherize, Turn / Burn.

I haven't decided which card I like better, Time Ebb or Disperse, so I'm leaving in Time Ebb in the sideboard until I can playtest this deck enough. Time Ebb has the added benefit of wasting my opponents draw step by forcing him to redraw his/her creature that I just put there, but Time Ebb cost 1 more mana, and isn't an instant. Disperse also has the benefit that it can target any permanent, including the nasty gods. I guess the only way to find out is to pummel my enemies and see which card is more fun!

Maybeboard:

Judge's Familiar, Seacoast Drake, Vaporkin. I'm thinking I want to trade out Wall of Frost for one of these flyers for non aggro decks, I plan to play around with each creature until I find out which one works best.

Any help, feedback, or discussion I would love, and as usual, +1's are much appreciated. Thanks for taking a look!
