Is there a hub option for all over the place?
I was considering posting my ideas for this deck but never did due to the fact that it, well, kinda sucks. But I took the original concept from a you tube deck tech and added some newly pulled and traded cards and suddenly top 8'd at fnm. Here it is Abzan Displacer.Here is my "Explanation" of my horrible deck building skills, I MEAN, "inclusions".
Zulaport Cutthroat Don't bother asking why this is still in here, I guess because I wanted to at least keep the combo in here, even if I couldn't assemble the combo in a million years. Plus a 2 drop is nice when I don't have a finished playset of Sylvan Advocates
Sylvan Advocate, This is just a good stuff card for a "Good" stuff deck. Just read it, its amazing right. Literally won me games. Only running one because . . . . . well . . . . . no more copies but if I had more I would certainly run them.
Elvish Visionary Just really good, it is an early play that can block, and sometimes even trade with another card. It also has value from Eldrazi Displacer potentially, and those deck with tons of single removal probably don't want to spend 3 mana on killing a 1/1.
Eldrazi Displacer The original concept for the deck, an infinite combo. A 3 card combo. That needs all 3 cards to not die. Okay, so the combos clunky, I get it, but thats why I added cards to make some value off of him. For example . . .
Siege Rhino Its an abzan colored deck, who wouldn't run it at this point. Plus synergy with displacer, won most of my games to this synergy.
Matter Reshaper If you look at the manabase you'll notice a lot of colorless, thats because the deck was focused around consistently activating displacer. So my lazy ass keeps the mana base and adds other eldrazi, and it still works, greedy manabase for the win! Anyways just a really strong 3 drop that has a surprisingly large affect on the game sometimes.
Thought-Knot Seer He is another greedy eldrazi that tilts your opponent and takes away really good cards. Plus extra burn if you have displacer out.
Reality Smasher Literally no synergy to the deck, but he hits fast and hard. Like every game I've had him out he's been amazing. I even won a game with him because my opponent was so confused as to what the hell my deck was doing.
Abzan Charm I noticed this style of deck got recked sometimes by fatties and flyers. It can't chump forever, every ability on this card is amazing, from killing their biggest threat or drawing me a winning smasher or rhino to saving a creature from a fiery death.
Silkwrap
It recks all the scary small guys of the format, and if it weren't for this card Managorger Hydra would have killed me.
Catacomb Sifter This guy is so good in the deck somehow. He is an early play that can play a both offensive and defensive role. He gives you scrys off your other threats dieing. There is also a bit weaker synergy with eldrazi displacer. Plus no one usually expects rhinos, thought knot seers or reality smashers alongside Catacomb Sifter.
Brood Monitor Thats right I am running one of the main combo piece. Its mainly because lack of cards to replace and, I really wanted the combo to be in there somewhere, I am sure you could fit another copy in, but I feel like it could make the deck worse. When you can't use it to combo, you make plenty of blockers or future attackers.
Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet If the deck wasn't confusing enough, heres another one! He is a pretty good on his own, generating tons of tokens potentially, and an aggro players nightmare.
Oath of Nissa This card brings the deck together in a way. Early on it can pick up threats or land drops, and late game leads you closer to that rhino.
Linvala, the Preserver She is so good! I was only running her because value with displacer, and let me tell you it is kinda broken. Her and her token alone have won me the game, plus don't get me started on the life gain. Originally I was questioning the inclusion but now with some experience she is great.
I can now try to explain my sideboard and where you want certain cards.
Languish There is a lot of match ups where you want this, and really to list them would be a waste of my time, its just good where the effect can clear someones board, or at least most of it.
Flaying Tendrils This is the smaller Languish for red decks generally, but theres other decks where you'll want it. Often you side in both of the 2 wraths.
Immolating Glare I felt like the deck needed better removal, and what better place than the sideboard, it has been best versus the decks with larger threats but also strong versus aggro.
Pulse of Murasa This is the only spot in my sideboard I don't know about, because I haven't sided it in yet. I thought maybe removal heavy decks would be its strongsuit, but I never needed to bring it in, in that matchup. HELP me find a replacement spot.
Natural State This card has few important matchups, but they still exist. Very self explanatory, does your opponent have a troublesome artifact or enchantment? Well you better bring it in.
Transgress the Mind
It is so, so good. Brought it in for almost every match. It takes out removal, planes walkers, creatures, collected company, and without any real price.
Duress For most of the same decks you want transgress the mind for, it takes out spells, this means walkers, removal, and wait for it . . . . . . OTHER STUFF my lazy ass can't think of but its very important.
Ultimate Price It's good against most aggro decks, which is the only matchup I can really see it in, but I think it needs its spot nonetheless.
