Read from a Modern dual casting deck, figured it would be even more fun and just as playable in Standard. Here's the concoction I've brewed. Don't taste it yet? It's burning hot.
Edit: After further getting Judge reviews, this deck can be a lot more potent than first thought. Here's the breakdown:
Pillar of Flame
- The core pillars which support this deck.
Searing Spear - Core. Because a normal spear doesn't burn enough.
Brimstone Volley - Barrages of molten rocks, are perfect castle crashers after clearing the board.
Skullcrack - Knock knock, lose life. No you can't recover. No you're Thragtusk nor Sphinx's Revelation will help you live.
Thunderous Wrath - Incase the gods want to join the fun. No really, they can just play for you.
Bonfire of the Damned - "Pesky damned creatures everywhere, oh wait, there's a bonfire for that!"
The real fun of the deck:Reverberate - This card has MANY uses. I see you didn't like my Searing Spear, how's another one?- Or, you had a Revelation... Me too!- So I heard you like Counterspells, so I Counterspelled your Counterspell.
Chandra, the Firebrand - Hello baby, can you poke people and maybe mimic my spells for me? Awesome.
Dual Casting
- Always nice to dual wield, just fire instead of weapons, seems legit. Also super cheap board wipe aid.
Augur of Bolas - Always Helps with burn draw, also a nice non-Pillar-able enchanting target.
Goblin Electromancer Because copying spells is easier when they cost less.
Guttersnipe - He really is a good shot with those spear snipes.
Blistercoil Weird - Core of deck, boost from burn and part of an insane casting combo is why I left this guy for last. Essentially with
Dual Casting
, you can cast as many copies as you have mana for. Seriously. When the copy goes on the stack, it resolves and counts as a casted spell, untapping and boosting him again before the initial spell resolves, so you can copy it again and again until you run out of mana. Turn 3, 3 Pillar of Flames or 2 Searing Spears? Whoa. Then swing with the damn guy after!
Would love some input and +1s if you like it. Cheers!
