IZZET is my favourite colour combination. For me it is the most fun, but is just outside of being consistent enough to pile up those wins. This is an attempt to keep the fun and increase the reliability. Id like help on this, lets make it a team effort for all those IZZET lovers and those who want to join us!

The deck runs on the strong components of Blue devotion with a option to BURN!!! which is very fun. Purphoros, God of the Forge is a one of (maybe 2) that boosts the effect of Master of Waves entering the battlefield.

A card I just could not resist is Spellheart Chimera the card may not be top tier but its a Theros IZZET card and its fun! The burn in this deck can clear some creatures or just hit the life points hard, either way our flying battering ram gets bigger each time. Some counter spells also buff him up. You can easily sub in full burn in place of counters but its just nice to have the option in game 1.

Help wanted and welcome, hopefully through discussion and recommendation we can make this deck work and NIV-MIZZET can be proud!

ADVICE NEEDED! Thanks.

After playing the original deck listing for a few weeks locally and experimenting with various different builds one thing kept eating away at me. It just was not performing consistently enough. When I had a good match it was so much fun, but for every fun game, 3 or more miserable matches followed.

Much discussion was had which resolved with myself and my buddies deciding that izzet is a cruel mistress and maybe a different approach is required.

Mono blue devotion, with Purphoros, God of the Forge as a win condition. The hilarity of dropping him before a Master of Wavesfoil and just destroying life totals has been pretty darn successful.

If that tactic does not become available during the game then simply play as though you are mono blue and have fun with it. I have succeeded in many more games with this build than any previous, consistency is higher and so is the fun factor.

Apologies to anyone who upvoted a radically different build from the current one. This is a much more simple idea which pays off way more often.
