The first Commander deck I've ever designed (although it's the second that I've actually completed a list for).

It is, obviously, a standard Izzet-themed commander deck complete with the majority of the Izzet-aligned multicolored cards such a deck practically demands. However, it also includes other U/R multicolored creatures I felt added value to the deck - Lorwyn in particular seems to have a lot of colored-creature lords that I like enough to add into the mix.

In addition to the various lord cards there are what I deem a sufficient number of counters and burn spells, but the most important things are the equipment cards meant to enhance the General and various cards meant to form combos with Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind or certain other cards in the deck.

Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Ophidian Eye /Curiosity in particular is as many Izzet players know an infinite loop combo that takes advantage of the Firemind's triggered ability. Deal as much damage and draw as much as I like? Yes, please! I don't expect to actually get to pull the combo off very often, but as I understand it that's how Commander works - those times you manage to pull this sort of thing off are what players tell stories about for years to come.
