Classic Modern Storm with Epic Experiment and Psychic Spiral instead of Past in Flames and Sleight of Hand.
Been having pretty good luck with it, but as I understand storm more I'll be changing things out. Probably going to hold onto Epic Experiment, though. Been having a LOT of luck with it. Don't actually understand yet why I've not seen it when you run so much mana ramp in these decks. Wouldn't be surprised to see Psychic Spiral go out though, since it counter-combos Pyromancer Ascension.

Yeah, I mainboarded Emrakul.
While it's rare you'll get to hardcast him, it's more rare that he's a worse draw than a Psychic Spiral. And I have been casting him from time to time (like every fifth game), and usually on turn 3 or 4 when it does happen. Ultimately, I'm usually using him for utility, and sometimes for the win. He just wound up feeling less bad than Psychic Spiral in the hand, especially with the next change.
That change being Izzet Charm. I decided to put this in over
Desperate Ravings
(and more importantly, instead of other cards) for one big reason. I needed something to counter my counters. Whether it's holding onto two mana before I drop an experiment or simply blasting Thalia, Guardian of Thraben or Ethersworn Canonist off the table. Ultimately, it's just more useful for me to actually play, and comes with the added bonus against
Desperate Ravings
that I get to choose which cards I discard, which might be dead drops (like more than one Goblin Electromancer or Pyromancer Ascension) or just the obvious combo of dropping Emrakul, the Aeons Torn to the graveyard to only have to pay two mana to draw two cards and send my graveyard back to my deck.
There are probably other uses to having the burn/counter aspect in this deck. Maybe I'll figure them out.
