I am always trying to make an effective and consistent mill deck, and I believe 2012 is going to solve my problems. The main source of mill is Jace's Archivist along with help from Jace's Erasure.
Since the archivist's ability is so cheap, I hope to be able to unload cheap spells during my turn then gain card advantage and mill by activating his ability.
Having Vengeful Pharaoh in my graveyard will help deflect aggro. With the archivist out, he will be back in my graveyard on the next turn.
Elixir of Immortalitykeeps me from milling myself out, and 5 life is always nice.
One thing I am considering is more card variety. This deck is unique in the sense that I will traverse a large portion of my deck during a game. One normally puts 4 copies of a card in a deck to increase the frequency which it appears; however, I am likely to see most of my cards in a game. Because of this, I am considering making more cards 2-3 in order to gain more card variety. Thoughts?
Also, due to the unfortunately high cost of the new jace, I will be play testing with baby jace until I can obtain a set of the new ones.
UPDATE: I actually got to play this deck for the first time (7/21), and it was my favorite mill deck by far. I would totally recommend trying it out! I was able to mill over half a deck in one turn in the two games I won (2-1).
