Deck Background: My friend wants to get into Modern but doesn't have much money to blow. Based on what they had we ended up choosing mono-blue mill. Some cards in the list may not be considered budget but they are cards that we have and/or can acquire. We want it to be as competitive as possible for FNM this week but it will be an ongoing project as we look to continue improving it in the future.

Deck Construction: The strategy we decided to use is to put as many copies of Jace's Erasure and Sphinx's Tutelage on the field as we could while casting lots of draw spells to mill the opponent. Notably there are no actual creatures - a result of our creature-hostile local metagame and our desire to maximize draw/mill. One-ofs are in the deck to try out. Our sideboard also reflects our local meta, which consists largely of Amulet/Tron, Blitz/Burn, Living End, and odd WUx Control decks.

Suggesting: Any serious suggestions are much appreciated. If possible, try and keep card suggestions to sets ZEN (original Zendikar) and newer. However, if there is a card that's too good not to use and pretty inexpensive we will consider ordering it.
