Hope of Ghirapur
Our one drop,
Hope of Ghirapur, is a great little thopter in this deck which allows us to reliably get in for early damage as a 1/1 with Flying. While it isn't a vital combo piece we can activate its ability and sacrifice it to make sure that our opponent can't interfere with us while we combo next turn. It is also great for drawing out the game once we get to 5 mana as we can assign it as a blocker to just about any attack before returning it back to hand with the bounce ability of
Decoction Module, meaning we don't lose it and we take no combat damage.
Shielded Aether Thief
Shielded Aether Thief is our go to two-drop. The reason for this is that it has Flash, so we can hold on to our mana on turn two in case we need to counter a threat and then drop it on our opponent's end step, keeping our options open. Its also bulky enough to survive Shock, Magma Spray, Harnessed Lightning and Lightning Strike against Red. Against Black/Black-White, the card can reliably block Knight of Malice and Knight of Grace but is vulnerable to both Fatal Push and Cast Down. As a bonus it can fairly reliably generate some energy and occasionally offers card draw, although we normally have better things to spend energy on.
Reckless Fireweaver
Reckless Fireweaver is our other two-drop creature and is also our best win condition when our combo goes off. Since it has a fairly sturdy 1/3 body it can be a nice blocker early on and now that we have four copies in our deck we don't have to worry as much about them being killed off or countered. There isn't really much more to add about this guy, so lets move on.
Whirler Virtuoso
Whirler Virtuoso is one of the most important cards in our deck. At its most basic it is a 2/3 for 3 mana that has the ability to spend energy to create 1/1 flying thopters. These in turn proc most of our deck's effects, ranging from pinging our opponent to allowing us to rummage and draw through our deck. Eventually we use this thopter generation to trigger multiple copies of Decoction Module or Aetherstorm Roc and allow us to generate an endless supply of flying 1/1 tokens.
Quicksmith Genius
Quicksmith Genius is a pretty straightforward card. Its another slightly underwhelming 3/2 for 3 mana at its base, but its ability allows us to draw through our deck to the cards we need by having Artifacts enter the battlefield.
Aetherstorm Roc
Aetherstorm Roc is the final creature card in our deck. It is a 3/3 creature with Flying for 4 mana which is pretty nice. It also generates us energy whenever we play it or another creature allowing us to draw one less Decoction Module to start our combo. Its second ability gives us another outlet for our energy supplies, stacking the Roc with +1/+1 counters while tapping any potential blockers and giving us another solid win condition.
