Hey this is my take on a standard Izzet deck. After
Hidden Strings
another cheap cipher card was released I realised Nivmagus Elemental would be much more viable as you can stop the Cipher card from resolving every turn to give Nivmagus at least 2 +1/+1 counters every turn.
Key Spells-
Invisible Stalker - He's a key card here, Jesus Christ himself, the Cipher Star! An unkillable unblockable beast who makes sure my cipher cards are triggering every turn.
Nivmagus Elemental - Good for early defence also late game you can stop the Cipher trigger from resolving and give him 2 or more +1/+1 counters every turn.
Guttersnipe - Self-Explanatory 2 or more damage every turn yes please. One of my win cons.
Talrand, Sky Summoner - Again self explanatory 1 or more 2/2 fliers every turn. Another win con. Double yes please.
Hands of Binding - This card plus Invisible Stalker is amazing. Basically means one of their creatures is out of the game as I can keep it perma tapped down. Also multiple Hands of Binding on a Stalker, best feeling ever.
Hidden Strings
- The main reason I think this deck is now viable. Finally another decent Cipher card. The beautiful thing about this is the fact by floating mana I can play every copy of this I have in my hand, and then tack on a hands of binding for good measure. Awesome.
Armed / Dangerous - Has too much synergy within this deck. Firstly this +
Artful Dodge
+ Nivix Cyclops or Nivmagus Elemental leads to huge, if not game-winning, damage. Also just realised that double strike triggers Cipher twice. This allows you to get 4 damage off each Cipher on Invisible Stalker with Guttersnipe or two fliers with Talrand, Sky Summoner.
I wouldn't say this deck is perfect I just saw an opportunity to make something good and I took it. Please if your reading this leave feedback I really want to make this deck as good as it can be. Thanks for your time!!!
