Here's a few recap of how this played last fnm I took it to. (keep in mind this is about 2 weeks ago so i'm not going to be as detailed this time around. )
Round 1: 2-0
Game one consisted of him playing land and then getting run over by Olivia.
Game two he got his mill engine online, but was easily overrun by creatures before he got me over the halfway point milled, don't believe the guy had any removal in his deck at all..was just race milling.
Round 2: 2-0 R/G Werewolves
This game was fun, but I know how to play around werewolves, he only got one set of flips out of the pair against this deck and thanks to abrupt decay they did not stay around long.
Round3: 2-1 Selesnya aggro
Game one was amazing, we traded in value for around 12 turns, but eventually I got away from him with Olivia and Sever the Bloodline to pull ahead in advantage. We were top decking all of game 3, and game 2 he ran me over due to having no red land come down and drawing 2 Olivia back to back.
Round4: 2-1
This was vs an R/B Rakdos deck, that appeared to be missing some of the higher end stuff...was running top end curve, hellhole flailers. Game two was lost due to mana, games one and three were won by getting down to about 3/4 life, then running him out of cards and stabilizing.
After that friday i've seen some slots flying around where there are staff of nin 1 of and since I do not have access to hellkites (go figure) I am attempting to work with the vampire nighthawks to smooth out the curve a bit.
I'll post back here with updates after the
TCGplayer MaxPoint Silver Qualifier
I will be attending on saturday.
In the meantime we're making some quick changes, still focusing on making a strong late game without needing blowouts to win with hellkite.
