I was once again tasked by a member of my playgroup to create a deck. This time I was told they wanted something that was a bit more competitive, and ideally not blue because they wanted to try something different. I scouted around for a bit looking for something that would be fun and came across Kaervek, and then to give myself a bit of a challenge I decided to also build around a companion for the first time. The concept here is simple, you don’t have to do anything because your opponents will kill themselves. The deck is full of ways to keep both you and Kaervek alive, as well as turn him into a creature removal machine. The longer the game goes on, the more life your opponents lose until even a small creature can get the job done, and they won’t be able to play a blocker or a kill spell because they won’t have the life to do it.
