Welcome to my take on a Vampire deck. Unlike some others I've decided it would be best to keep my Vampire deck Mono-Black, for ease of use with
Vampire Nocturnus
.
Now this Vampire deck is supposed to be a sacrifice mill, trying to abuse the ability of Kalastria Highborn.
Now to explain my choice of cards:
Kalastria Highborn: This card is what inspired me to try and make a deck like this. I felt like paying the 1 mana for a 2 life siphon was really a nice ability, and it's a lot tougher than Blood Artist, and can sacrifice itself if there are no other creatures able to use.
Blood Artist: This is like Kalastria Highborn except it only uses 1 life at a time without paying mana.
Vampire Nighthawk: This is kind of a given in any vampire deck. Flying lifelink 2/3? That's insane!
Gatekeeper of Malakir: This is a nice boost for Blood Artist if needed, this also helps clear up the board if it's filled, overall a good card, and easily killable for the abilities of Kalastria Highborn and Blood Artist.
Guul Draz Vampire
: This is a very nice vampire that can become a threat later game, it's also a quick 1 drop that Kalastria Highborn can use.
Finishers:
Vampire Nocturnus
: This is a very nice finisher, that allows other vampires to get in on the action, and with the Mono Black deck, it's a guaranteed boost (Except for the 2 Artifacts)
Anowon, the Ruin Sage: This is a very nice finisher, since it pretty much clears the board in a couple of turns, it's also great for multiplayer.
Bloodlord of Vaasgoth: This is a very nice vampire booster, giving +3 counters to pretty much all vampires, since it's a constant loss of life thanks to Kalastria Highborn.
Control
Feast of Blood
: Since you will pretty much have 2 vampires on the board at all times, this is a great card to abuse for the life gain.
Urge to Feed: This is a very nice early game remover, it also boosts your vampires ability to hit hard.
Thanks for reviewing! I hope for this to be competitive later in its life. Just put what you should put in in the comments and I'll see what can work! :D
