Welcome to "8-Whack" Goblins! This is a highly aggressive Goblin tribal build that is looking to win by turn 3 or 4 with the simple strategy of playing Goblins, activating ETB effects, turning them sideways, then finishing our opponent off with our 8 burn spells that offer a great deal of reach.
Typically you'll finish the game after dropping and swinging with one of our 8 "Whackers". Goblin Bushwhacker, and
Reckless Bushwhacker
. Who share a similar ability that we do our best to abuse in this build.
I find this deck to be both highly competitive, consistent, and fun. Hopefully you will to.Suggestions Welcome.

THE GOBLIN HORDE
"It's time for the 'Smash, Smash' song!"
Foundry Street Denizen
An excellent one drop for this build. Triggering its extra damage for any of the spells we would play.
Frenzied Goblin
We only run one here, but 2 copies could easily be justified. We want to win fast and any blockers can be disruptive to our victory. This gives us a way around that other than burn.
Goblin Chieftain
The lord of the build. We only mainboard two copies due to the mana cost. Coming in with haste allows us to play aggressively.
Goblin Guide
The best one drop red has to offer. This one is an automatic 4 of.
Goblin Piledriver
Piledriver's pump is legit. This will pretty much beat Merfolk on it's own. Even if our opponent isn't running blue, we can do massive damage fast while attacking with a couple other goblins, one being
Legion Loyalist
, allowing for trample damage.
Legion Loyalist
An absolute beast in this build. The trample and first strike damage almost always triggers since we want to be attacking every turn with all our goblins.
Mogg Fanatic
Helps with creature removal and an ideal chump blocker. Helps squeeze in that last bit of damage to finish our opponent off.
Mogg War Marshal
We typically won't pay for the echo cost, but this still works well with our wide aggro strategy. We want as many creatures as possible swinging at once to squeeze in lethal damage with the help of our pumpers.
The other option here would be Dragon Fodder, of Krenko's Command. But on the off chance we're actually able to pay the Echo cost the next turn, it's preferable to keep him in here. If we don't, then it's still 2x 1/1's for . If we do, we can swing with him the turn we play him if haste has been activated and he will replace himself when/if he dies, giving us a possible value of 3 goblins for the price of two.
Goblin Bushwhacker,
Reckless Bushwhacker
We will be wanting to swing for massive damage after taking advantage of their ETB effects. With four copies of each, our chances of finding one are favorable.
LITTLE GOBLINS, BIG BOOM!
Lightning Bolt
Undoubtedly the best single burn spell in MTG. It's cheap mana cost allows it to fit seamlessly in our mana stingy build
Goblin Grenade
5 damage for one mana is unbelievably good. This gives us incredible reach, as we don't always have to do the full 20 damage to kill our opponent. Get them into range of one or two GG's and blast them for a surprise kill.
MANA
We have a simple mana base here with 4x Bloodstained Mire for deck thinning and 14x Mountain. The fetches aren't necessary as some may argue the damage taken isn't worth it, but with a build that wants to play recklessly and finish fast, I felt speed and more consistent draws were a priority.

Cavern of Souls
I'm only running one copy to help pad against control builds. An argument could be made for running a second copy. For now I haven't had enough problems with control to justify adding another. "I've been all over the world. I even remember some of those places."
SIDEBOARDThrow enough goblins at any problem and it should go away. At the very least, there'll be fewer goblins.
Dragon's Claw
Our ace in the hole against red burn and goblins. Doesn't hurt that every spell we play will also give us health from this.
Forked Bolt
A good way of combating weenie decks that throw out blockers quickly.
Smash to Smithereens
Bring the playset in against builds that can hinder us with artifacts. Pulls double duty by removing an artifact based threat and damaging the opponent.
Tormod's Crypt
Because of the stingy nature of our build with it's mana, we prefer this over other graveyard hate such as Relic of Progenitus.
HONORABLE MENTIONSHe raged at the world, at his family, at his life. But mostly he just raged.
Vexing Devil
One of the biggest issues with this deck i've ran into is Goblin Guide. Not due to it's effectiveness, but due to it's pricetag.
Vexing Devil may be a good alternative here as it will deal good damage most of the time whether of not our opponent let's it stick around. The downside here is it won't receive pumps from Goblin Chieftian, and can't be sacrificed for
Goblin Grenade
.
Raging Goblin
Probably the best Goblin Guide alternative in my opinion. Definitely more cost efficient, and fits seamlessly into the build.
Dragon Fodder, Krenko's Command
These were a very close runner-up to
Mogg War Marshall
as mentioned before. In the end, M.W.M. was the preferred route to take. Keep in mind, in a mirror match,
Legion Loyalist
prevents tokens from blocking. Though this situation may never arise for you, it's better to be prepared instead by having M.W.M. instead, as you have a chance of keeping a non-token body on the field.
