The main idea is to be a control deck that's able to swing in early and gain value out of the combat step. It does this with Keyrunes which dodge sweepers, all sorcery speed removal, and some instant speed removal, while still being able to swing.

The keyrunes also provide mana to fuel using up lands on Underworld Connections, Extort triggers, and X spells.

In the sideboard are win conditions with Entreat the Angels and Nicol Bolas incase of artifact hate, or something else that prevents swinging with the keyrune like Stony Silence. Tamiyo also makes an appearance as a way to make the opponent always take a 2 for 1 off a sweeper. Nephalia Drownyard is also in the sideboard in the event of a control matchup where creatures are useless.
