Budget burn deck. No sideboard included as the deck is intended for fun and not for competition.

Wanted to see how well a few different, off-beat burn strategies would work together and came up with this deck. The primary focus is buffing Kiln Fiend with damaging instants and sorceries to swing for lethal damage.

Creatures:

• Grim Lavamancer was axed in favor of Chandra's Spitfire because BUDGET, that's why. More critter that translates burn into beatdown.

• Kiln Fiend: The focus of the deck. Use cheap burn spells to clear the way, get the first few hits in and buff him for what will hopefully be a win.

Instants:

• Burst Lightning: It was a toss-up between this Rift Bolt, but I decided on this due to the fact that it's an instant, doesn't give the warning that Suspend does and has a late-game potential for excess mana-outletting.

• Fiery Temper: A bit of an odd choice, but I enjoy the Wild Guess combo and that this gives an excuse to include Guess. In the end, it's just another kind of Lightning Bolt.

• Gut Shot: Effectively a point of damage for nothing. Allows for rapid buffing of Kiln Fiend with the Phyrexian cost and way to spit out a hand quicker.

• Lightning Bolt: Arguably the best burn card in Magic.

• Skullcrack: A Lightning Bolt that quells life-gain and is an essential inclusion in any burn deck.

Sorceries:

• Assault Strobe: Allows for a definitive win with Kiln Fiend if left uninhibited, but the low creature count make this an iffy addition.

• Browbeat: Forces you opponent between the rock and hard place of damage right now or in one more turn. Solid draw power in the early game.

• Pillar of Flame: Direct damage that is more effective at eliminating creatures, warranting its addition to the deck.

• Wild Guess: Used for triggering Fiery Temper for what nets out to be the same cost, but with a bit of draw power. Maybe not the most efficient strategy, but it's clever.
