Note: I have never played this deck before.

Mono Black was a deck containing turn one Thoughtseize , into Pack Rat . The next play would either be cheap removal or a devotion machine. (Something that adds to devotion. Then Desecration Demon to only finish you off with Gray Merchant of Asphodel .

Breaking that down turn one, we can continue to Thoughtseize . However turn two becomes a problem. We don't have anything as annoying as Pack Rat . We do have Brain Maggot which is annoying in most cases. Although a lot of good removal has already rotated out, there's enough that it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Now one of the key cards for the deck was Underworld Connections the only card draw. In replacement of that is Sign in Blood . I also decided that splashing blue for Treasure Cruise might be able to push the deck into a playable realm.
Instead of Desecration Demon as the choice turn four play, maybe Squelching Leeches might be just as good. The only down side is that it doesn't have flying. Whip of Erebos is just really good in general. Erebos, God of the Dead is an okay card, but does have some card draw so it's not completely useless. Which leads us into Gray Merchant of Asphodel . i can't imagine this to be as good as it was, seeing as how there isn't really any good devotion fillers. Turn 5 the average you could get would be 5 life, making it slightly better than Siege Rhino . As far as matches go, i have no idea, but it seems like you'd be okay.
