C'mere, kitty kitty kitty!

Who's the purr-ecious kitty cat?

Wait, are cats supposed to hiss like thi...

GAAAAH!

This list is aimed at casual and/or budget players who just wanna have some kitchen table fun with CMD 2017's Feline Ferocity.

It's not competitive by any means, but it can and will pack a punch against your opponents and win some games. Keep in mind it's a work in progress - this is the list I built with cards I already had or could afford. Feel free to experiment or even suggest your own! Interpret this list as an improv purr-oject, if you will.

Now, let's get the cat out of the bag!

Arahbo is the oddball among the 2017 CMD generals. Whereas the other tribes generate extra value by either a) swarming the board with tokens and counters; b) enabling degenerate combos with haste tokens/ETB triggers; or c) downright cheating huge creatures and permanents into play, Arahbo creates pseudo-Overrun effects to a single Cat each turn.

As it is, the precon gets easily outvalued in the long run. Arahbo dominates the early game but somehow loses steam the longer the game gets. A high CMC overall makes consistent plays hard. Some of the "Go Tall" cards don't synergize with "Go Wide cards", while some of these cards don't interact well with the Voltron subtheme.

This list tries to tackle some of these issues, in particular the lack of focus, by completely forgoing the "Go Wide" strategy and removing some of the jankier, more expensive creatures such as Jareth, Phantom Nishoba and Jedit in order to become a Go Tall deck with a heavy Equipment Matters subtheme, while also adding a very strong Equipment support.

Arahbo loves his pride. In fact, he loves it so much, he wants to give full attention to a single kitty each turn. He wants his little sacred kitties to hit for +3/+3 as early as turn 2. The problem is, his Eminence ability only triggers once per turn to a single cat. So we want to drop Arahbo as soon as we can, then abuse his triggered abilities via Strionic Resonator. This way, your average kitty-out-of-the-litter hits for 1/1, which becomes a 4/4, which THEN becomes a 8/8 and THEN escalades to a 16/16 with trample even further!

"But there's 120 points of life to be taken, what can a single cat accomplish?" Ask our furry friend, Lost Leonin. Be careful: he WILL give rabies to an unsuspect opponent! 2/1 is nothing to write home about, but what if this 2/1 becomes a 20/19 trample with infect?

What if we go even further, by equipping Balan, Wandering Knight with a Grafted Exoskeleton and Inquisitor's Flail? Balan loves her blings, and we love hitting our dog-loving friends with big felines! She strikes at 5/5 plus +3/+3 from Arahbo plus +8/+8 from his activated ability plus a second trigger from the bracelets plus DOUBLE COMBAT DAMAGE WITH TRAMPLE AND INFECT! That's TWO TIMES 64 TRAMPLE/INFECT DAMAGE, just because we can.

Sigarda's Aid, Brass Squire, Open the Armory; all these support our Equipments. Rishkar's Expertise can draw us tons of cards and cheat them to play after combat, while Whirlwind helps your cats hunt those pesky Birds, Spirits and Dragons. Comeuppance serves as a pseudo-fog and removes most of the attacking board.

If you're not sure what to tutor with Open the Armory or Taj-Nar Swordsmith, I strongly reccomend tutoring for Rogue's Gloves or card:Trailblazer Boots for unblockable shenanigans and card draw.

By slowly ramping, playing one or two felines a time, accumulating cat toys and manipulating combat steps to our favor, these kitties shall roar! It's important not to overcommit to your board, though, cause board wipes exist. We do have some recursion in cards like Seasons Past, Open the Vaults and Second Sunrise, but it's smarter to play them only if you can absolutely win by combat damage that turn.

Leave no more than two cats and Arahbo, and two or three equipments. Our board doesn't need to be wide, it needs to be efficient. The more we can accomplish with the least permanents on play, the better. Double strikers like Skyhunter Skirmisher and Adorned Pouncer can do our early game job just fine. Cards like Brimaz are best suited for a wide strategy, but can offer good early game blockers.

Don't be afraid to pay equip costs over and over again, but Arahbo works best if we can leave open mana for that juicy activated ability. Zendikar Resurgent and Mirari's Wake are obligatory keeps; mana doublers are vital for our strategy.

This is my first post ever on Tappedout, so suggestions and improvements to formatting and deckbuilding are more than welcome!

(Upvote +1 if you like the deck, kitty puns or cats in general ;D)
