The main mechanic is to make lots of tokens and counters and sacrifice them all for fun effects, direct damage or other such things, then bring them back to life, and as a finisher, hopefully steal from everyone's graveyards.

You've got generation like Ant Queen, Creakwood Liege, Awakening Zone, Goblin Assault, Golgari Germination and Dragonlair Spider, which can all give you a nice supply of weenies to block, sac and do stuff with. Some, like those from Awakening Zone, even give you mana!

So you've got an army of 1/1? What now Einstein? Well you can make everything unblockable with Champion of Lambholt. Give lots of direct damage with Deathbringer Thoctar and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord. Make Kresh HUGE. Even MOAR tokens with Korozda Guildmage and Mycoloth. Get them big beasties out with Deathrender . Or you can tap them all for cool effects with Skirsdag High Priest and Mossbridge Troll . Or bring yer critters from your library with Jar of Eyeballs and Birthing Pod!

And did I mention you can bring them all back to life with Cauldron of Souls, Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and Gleancrawler ? And if they happen to die with Flayer of the Hatebound, Falkenrath Noble, or Stalking Vengeance, then all SORTS of cool stuff could happen!

And then you get counters. Oh, the glorious counters! Corpsejack Menace, Forgotten Ancient, Primordial Hydra, Vigor, Vulturous Zombie... so many counters!

To put the cherry on the cherry, if you've managed to kill enough creatures, you can hopefully look forward to stealing at least SOME of them with Liliana Vess, Geth, Lord of the Vault, Grave Betrayal , Coffin Queen, Lord of the Void and Sisters of Stone Death!
