Krond the World's Greatest Super Hero

Commander / EDH* Budget GW (Selesnya)

Maxmaxmaxmax4444

This is my Krond multi-player enchantment deck that I've been using for a while now. I know that there's a ton of cards that I need to put in but I'm on a budget and need help prioritizing.

I designed and have tested this deck primarily in EDH multiplayer but do a lot of 1-on-1 with it in both EDH and casual (multiplayer and 1-on-1) and have found that the deck plays differently in all of those situations.

In multiplayer my initial goal is to deter people from attacking me with cards like Gideon's Lawkeeper and Ghostly Prison. As the game progresses my main goal becomes to get Krond in safely and keep him in afterwards. Because of the timing needed I've never found his high colour cost to me much of an issue because by the time I'm ready to bring him in I have the mana to do so. I do have other midgame heavy hitters like Hunted Wumpus, Thran Golem and even Aura Gnarlid to an extent to kit for signifigant chunks and they can be quite difficult to stop once enchanted.

Since this deck doesn't really have the muscle to win a game my itself I usually just rely on the other players gathering aggro with their bigger and better creatures and make sure that everyone else knows that.

The board wipes (Wrath of God, Day of Judgment, Winds of Rath) are for when one player gains sufficient momentum and is about to eliminate another player. I have found that if I prevent the loss and save them not only are they in my debt, they are much less likely to attack me and in addition it gets rid of the momentum that the other player initially had. The board wipes are also very useful for getting around hexproof which I have learned is a very important quality. Even Myojin of Cleansing Fire and Novablast Wurm can boardwipe destroying everything but themselves.

There is enough indestructiblity inside my deck so that when I board wipe there is a very real possibility that one of my creatures will survive and can wreak havoc after the wipe.I have Darksteel Gargoyle who is indestructible itself, Shield of the Oversoul and Shield of Kaldra as well to try to keep my creatures alive.

The point of Hunted Wumpus is to stir things up by allowing everyone to throw down the strongest creatures in their hand. the fact that I don't get to is usually lost in the fact that other people have played something probably big and scary and removal is usually used rather quickly. Also he's one of my favourite cards.
