About Kruphix

On the world of Theros, there is the perpetual presence of conflict. Mortals are always at odds with each other, the coastal polis of Meletis maintaining a volatile relationship with the tritons of the sea and the leonin of the north, while the proud polis of Akros staves off raids by the minotaur hordes of the Kragma Canyons and the undead Returned that hail from the hateful necropolis of Odunos. Even the forested polis of Setessa, defended by proud female warriors, gives no warning- and no mercy- to intruders. The polies even occasionally wage war against each other.

The gods quarrel as often as the mortals, the will of one often offending another. The twin gods of war, Iroas and Mogis, are in an eternal struggle waged by their mortal followers, one for glory, the other for bloodshed. The scheming machinations of Phenax, the god of deception, fool the dead into returning to the world of the living as the Returned, contradicting the wishes of Erebos, god of the Underworld. Feuds between gods often affect mortals directly, which have resulted in the sinking of entire cities and attacks by monsters of titanic proportions. The subconscious of the gods sometimes animates the substance of Nyx, the night sky, to produce living biens that seem to be made if stars, and a recent conflict that escalated into mistrust between gods and mortals caused these nyxborn to turn on the mortals. With so much conflict, it appears as though everyone would be taking sides against each other.

There is, however, a central source of neutrality on this world. No bias, no good, no evil- no limits. An embodiment of knowledge itself, Kruphix is the eldest of the fifteen gods of Theros, and as all gods were formed by the ideas of mortals, Kruphix came into being when the first inhabitants of Theros asked "Why?" Kruphix is the incarnation of knowledge on Theros, and all that was is known and ever was known on Theros is known by him. He dwells at the Temple of Mystery at the edge of the world, and his followers are few and far between. He is very mysterious, and few mortals have ever carried a conversation with him. His material manifestation itself is a portal to Nyx itself, and is more abstract in form than that of his fellow gods. Kruphix is one of the few beings on Theros that are aware of the existence of other worlds other than Theros. Kruphix is the memory of Theros.---------------------------------------------------This is my Kruphix EDH. Has a variety of uses for stored mana, and a fun combo with Omniscience and Soul of the Harvest. Suggestions are welcome.
