Maybeboard

Not your average toolbox. The basics for this deck began about four months ago with the folks I Friday-night with. What would follow is the most expensive magic endeavor I've undertaken so far. From the judge promo Elesh Norn to the Mana Crypt , this thing is foiled to the hilt. Thoughts and ideas are always welcome.

UpdateThis deck has gone through a few changes now, chief among them is the addition of paradox engine and Selvala, Heart of the Wild. These two cards, along with Sisay, allow you to cast your entire deck. Once everything hits the board you're fairly unstoppable. With cards like Gaddock Teeg, Dust Drinker, Linvala, and Dramoka in play there are very few cards to solve the threat you pose.

Update With the release of Dominaria I made surprisingly few changes. Evra was a fun choice for an instant speed shenanigan beat-stick, replacing Hixus for the time being. Druidic Vow will replace Primal command or Chord of Calling. Slightly lower on the curve with infinitely more potential with the added bonus of being legendary.

Update Oh, the banned list. How I loath thee. With paradox engine and Iona out of the deck, I decided to try Thran's Temporal Gateway and Urza's Ruinous Blast. Both function very well in this scenario. but Gateway is a massive target as soon as it's out. I've gotten more use out of it as a smokescreen of sorts, making people waste a piece of removal before I cast the thing I really need. I've also changed out Courser of Kruphix for Augur of Autumn, the secondary ability is very strong and allows for some of my smaller utility creatures to be played. I've also made several art substititions, namely Avacyn, Gaddock, Akroma, dark depths, and all the expedition lands, just to name a few. I'll be changing Reki and Vorinclex when my Secret Lair's show up.

Update Added Kamahl, Fist of Krosa, took out Ajani. This just became a slaughter.

As far as effectiveness goes, this deck is fairly rough to be against. Left to it's own devices, the game is effectively over by turn six at the latest, sometimes as often as three or four. One one occasion I got Mirari's Wake out turn three, followed by Vorinclex on four. Elesh Norn also draws a metric ton of hate whenever I get it out, as a lot of commanders are in range to be rendered a dud by the -2/-2 effect.
